The dog is the mayor. What a great book for kids starting to do independent reading. Super silly, jokes they can get, and for the parents, a little bit of a nudge to show kids that they can be part of and have a say in, their own community. Mostly though, it’s pure fun that will keep pages turning and give them confidence to finish a book. Fans of Dogman and Captain Underpants will enjoy this as well. My daughter, now 10, still reads these as relaxers because, sometimes, you just need to sit with something silly and fun.
