A wonderful independent reader for kids breaking from picture books. The story moves quickly and with tons of humor. There are also twists, turns, and surprises, which I found super helpful as motivation to keep reading. Also, my daughter is super into cats and, at at 6 and 7, fashion shows were a nightly event, so this book hit in the sweet spot. Multiple characters for them to follow to maximize the funny, and a little random magic like a flying cat kept her coming back for a reread. Fashion kitty has saved many of our afternoons.
