If your kids are into manga and anime, this cute but a little more mature graphic novel is going to wrap around their hearts and keep the pages turning. Set in NYC, these teens are independent of adults and free to explore the city and navigate this new age of freedom. The book is full of minor crushes, tests of friendship, boba, and visits to secret stores that hold treasures for those who enjoy cute stationary, blind boxes, and dreamy art supplies (my daughter is super into all of these, so the pages turned slow to take it all in). Just a wonderful story and perfect for independent readers who need something a little more mature but not so mature that its too much to take in.
