Our daughter read this in 4th grade and had us read it over the summer. If ever there was a book that the world needed to read right now, both adults and children, it’s this. Remarkable story telling, emotional, funny - all from so many different kinds of kid’s perspectives - this is what reading is all about. The range of feelings these pages manage to bring out will make books engaging and something kids want to explore more of. You think you know the story from what you’ve heard, but until you experience it, that’s only half of what’s inside. A work of art on every level, this should be required reading before any kid enters middle school. Read it with them and have talks that change lives. Wow.
