Drama. Owls. Fantasy but not too much. Owl school and all that comes with trying to find yourself in the forest. We started reading these to her at 4 and then she started to read by herself at around 6. Fit perfectly into her head and hands. Still reading now (at 10) when they come out - I think this book and Unicorn Diaries made her fall in love with independent reading. One of the great bridge reading books of all time.
