Starting around 2nd grade, the edge starts to come so you’re going to need books where the teachers are a little evil/wacky/absurd. This book actually turns school upside down and plays perfectly into the feelings kids might have about what education is all about. It’s ok to make fun of things. We found that our daughter wanted to talk with us about all the silly things happening, which really lead to us reading the books that she was reading. This book is a gateway to independent reading like no other!
