For any kid who ever compared their hair, looks, or beauty to anyone else, this is a wonderful story of defining your own standards of beauty. All kids should read this to gain acceptance of others and, also, get a peak into the world of hair products and what some people go through to do their hair. I had no idea the pain or trauma that lived in styling hair. Also nice to see something based in a city setting that felt real. Great stuff. Don't skip. This one is winning a bunch of awards. More books like this please that teach but don’t preach by hiding the veggies with an incredible story.
